Aura Science Team Meeting

October 1-3, 2012
Pasadena Convention Center, California, USA

We are pleased to announce that the EOS Aura Science Team meeting will be held Monday October 1 through Wednesday October 3 2012, and will be hosted by the TES and MLS teams at the Pasadena Convention Center in Pasadena, CA, USA. The purpose of this meeting is to keep the user community informed as to the current state of Aura data, to present scientific results using data from Aura and other relevant platforms, and to discuss research and program goals for the coming year. Persons interested in using Aura observations or showing relevant science results for About Aura are welcome to attend.

We anticipate that most presentations will use Aura data in applications related to the three Aura themes - recovery of stratospheric ozone, tropospheric air quality, and the roles of Aura products in climate. Topics of special interest this year include air quality (applications and operational aspects of Aura data); use of satellite data to address questions concerning non-carbon species and climate change; stratospheric influence on the troposphere; and the current status of research products, including TES/OMI ozone, TES/MLS CO, and MLS methyl chloride.

A block of rooms has been reserved at the Sheraton Hotel Pasadena (that is connected to the Pasadena Conference Center) for a rate of $125/night. Attendees must make their reservations using the booking code "JPL Aura Science Team Meeting" by 16 August 2012.

There will be a team dinner, which is open to all, on Monday evening (1 October), and a PI dinner on Tuesday night (2 October). In order to plan the team dinner and to determine the cost, we need to estimate the number of people interested in attending. Please indicate if you would like to attend on the registration form. Details, including location and cost, will follow at a later date.
